It went pretty well, actually. Talked to a number of people, sold a few books, signed a few books. I’m under no illusions that it’s going to “launch” my career into the stratosphere. But it helps, and every bit of it counts toward building a reputation and brand.
That said, I’m glad it’s over. Like most writers, I am by nature an introvert. I’d rather be holed up in my office writing than out in public, talking to people I don’t know. Being at home gives me more time to write, after all. And some good stuff is happening with the sequel to “99 Days” — I think I have a real, legit title for the book now. It’s still subject to change, but I’m liking it more than any of the many others I’ve tried out.
Maybe next book signing I’ll be a famous, million-selling author, and the line to meet me will be around the block — twice.
