It’s sad when any business ends, but even sadder when a bookstore closes its doors. That’s about to happen to Greetings and Readings in Hunt Valley, MD.
Their last day is Jan. 20 of next year. It’s especially sad for me because I had a book signing for “99 Days” there last year, and my book was on sale on the shelves.
It’s closing after 49 years in business. That’s a decent amount of time for a small, family-owned store, but it still hurts. All those people laid off, now looking for work. I know what that feels like, as I was in that exact position at this time last year.
So long, friends. So long, wonderful bookstore. May the new year treat you better.
